The most common reason that could cause bright yellow bowel motions would be an excess of bile in the motions, caused usually by a problem involving the liver. It could be irritated or congested in some respect. A compromised liver will also cause excessive tiredness, particularly in the morning.
Liver tonics that include St. Mary's Thistle, Globe Artichoke, Dandelion Root, Bupleurum as all, or part of their makeup are usually very effective in treating this type of problem.
It would be preferable to combine these with the use of digestive enzymes and use the enzymes with every meal to ensure proper digestion. If the bowel continues to show signs of being irritated, then add slippery elm powder to the regime, and use it at least twice daily. See page on 'Enzymes - facts'.
It may be also a good idea to make sure that your diet is kept 'smooth', by that I mean free of rough fibres, seeds, husks and anything that could irritate an already irritated/inflamed bowel, until such time as the digestive processes can adequately break these down. See page on 'Irritable Bowel Syndrome'.
Watch stress levels.
Continue this treatment for 2-3 months, but once the bowel has regained its normal action, be sure to continue using the enzymes. Because of our reliance for the most part on cooked or processed foods that destroy the natural enzyme content, it is important to always attempt to replace those that are lost.
Poor digestion and poor absorption in the bowel can also cause vitamin and mineral levels to be poor and it would be a good idea to use a liquid supplement such as Colloidal minerals and do this long-term, not just till you feel 'OK'! See page on 'Minerals - facts' and 'Minerals - why we need to supplement'.
