Fish Oils & other things

Changes ...namely the 'name' on my web site and the clinic itself to 'Naturally Holistic Health' ...like it? www.alisonodey.com remains the 'domain' name but I felt that 'Naturally Holistic Health' better depicts what I do, which is aim for health in a holistic (the whole body) manner rather than concentrating on only one aspect.
As Osteopathy is a branch of medicine that views the body as a whole and complete unit ( 'holistic' approach), where treatment of the patient takes into account the physical, mental and emotional components of the human body, then this blends very well with my view of Naturopathy.

Massage: I have decided to make myself available for massage and reflexology treatments when ever possible. These will hour long apointments and will need to be pre-booked.
Admittedly I am not practised in Ayurvedic massage, which usually includes head & facial massage, instead tend to use more Therapeutic methods and to balance the body as I go along. I could be persuaded to include the face if time allows!
To encourage clients in this area I have made up some very nice 'gift' packs which will be available for new massage clients.

Minerals: A slight problem here, in that my long time suppliers are not able to continue supply of '70 Plus' liquid minerals so I will now be stocking 'LifeSprings' liquid Minerals instead. Like '70 Plus' these are concentrated, vaccuum packed and come in 500ml bottles. They will be retailing at $53, which is considerably cheaper than the usual overthe-counter cost of between $60 and $65.

FISH OILS: A problem I've recently become concerned about is the number of people I find taking fish oils products who then comment on how unpleasant and 'fishy' they taste or that they have 'fishy' burps!!

Fresh fish does NOT TASTE' FISHY'. If your fish oil supplement tastes' fishy' then it is definitely not fresh. Also if you burp 'fishy' burps then the fish oil product is not only not fresh it is also not being absorbed efficiently.

There are now available much more advanced products than this. Admittedly they are not as cheap but then dose per capsule is higher and absorption is far better so your dose can be lower. For instance if you have been used to taking three capsules daily, then of these products you will only need to take one.

One product I have come across that fills all requirements is 'Omega-3 Forte'. This product is made from fresh food grade fish oil blended with Vitamin E to prevent oxidation, as well as being blended with Citrus oil that emulsifies the larger fish oil molecules and makes digestion and absorption much easier. It is also stringently tested for all environmental toxins and has a higher ratio of EPA and DHA than many other 1000mg fish oil capsules (350mg EPA and 230mg DHA instead of the more usual 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA). 'EPA/DHA' from Health World is another similar product.

So if you can't go fishing, or do go fishing and like us haven't caught much lately then it may be a better idea to come and get some good quality fish oil capsules.
